The pros and cons of tattoo essay: where is the truth?

The laws of development of modern society affect not only the change in its structure but also the formation of new cultural manifestations. One of the most controversial forms of contemporary culture is tattoos. It would be a mistake to say that tattoos have only become popular in the last few decades - they have been a way of identification and even spiritual protection for centuries. Nevertheless, tattoos are still a source of much debate and doubt in modern society - whether they are really part of pop culture or represent something more than just a long-lasting decoration.

Tattoos as part of modern culture: what is their significance?

In today's society, there is hardly a person who would be indifferent to them. Some admire them and see them as a form of art that has the right to be recognized just like other forms of creativity. For others, tattoos are sharply disliked, even for no objective reason. Nevertheless, one cannot deny the fact that tattoos have become more popular in recent years than in all previous centuries.

Since ancient times, tattoos have been one of the available ways to identify oneself. While they used to be a way to identify tribes and ancient clans, today tattoos are also most often used for personal expression and self-identification. Throughout its history, the appearance of tattoos has changed greatly from unpretentious signs to entire artistic complexes that can sometimes be observed. Therefore, it would be foolish to deny the relationship between contemporary culture and the art of body painting.

Given the widespread use of tattoos and their use, we can call them a part of modern culture. If their artistic value can be questioned, the connection between the previous concepts cannot be denied, and here is why:

  • Tattoos reflect a person's inner spiritual world, just like any other art form;
  • There are many artistic tattoo designs, from ancient symbols to cartoon sketches and copies of famous works of art;
  • Tattoos, like art, leave no one indifferent - they divide society into their fans and opponents;
  • The art of tattoos has long ago passed beyond the boundaries of certain social groups and has become part of the mass daily culture;
  • The art of drawing on the body needs to be trained and constantly develop their talent - not everyone can just pick up and start applying tattoos, this requires skill and talent.

Modern culture is wonderful in that it provides opportunities to express yourself in an accessible form, and tattoos are a great way to emphasize your individuality. Together with write my essay, we are sure that tattoos are an ancient cultural stratum, which has an ancient history and tradition. Thanks to the development and possibilities of modern society this part of ancient culture has got a new breath and potential for integration into modern culture according to its canons and requirements.

It is not worth trying to understand if you personally like tattoos - they will still objectively exist in the public cultural consciousness for more than one century. So they must be accepted as an integral part of the general culture.
